It's been a crazy holiday season and i'm trying to catch up with posting on the new blog and facebook.

Its not unusual to hear my clients request a portrait of their baby along with the family dog...

Gigi, the family's King Charles Cavalier was a very willing subject... Though 7 week old Andre didn't need any help in making an adorable photograph...

Nadya, 6 month || Baby portraits at home, Queens NY

Probably my favorite part of the holiday season is getting to work with my old clients and seeing their children (and family) grow.

You most likely don't recognize this little girl named Nadya, who I photographed at her Howard Beach home yesterday... Nadya is the "XOXO" newborn in the newborn gallery... She is now 6 months old.

Hailey just turned one and her mom hired me to come up to Yorktown Heights to do her portraits...

Katie and Paige - Port Washington Studio on location

Last year Patricia hired me to photograph her daughter Katie along with Mini, the family's Welsh Terrier.



This year Patricia had me come back... Mini was still being her usual cute self, but Katie had a new sidekick... Her baby sister Paige who is now 6 months old and ridiculously adorable.

Though initially not thought possible... Katie got even cuter!

Newborn photography session in Sayville (Long Island, NY)

On a recent Sunday afternoon I got back to my desk to find a couple of emails and a voicemail from a new mommy named Tania, who apparently was very eager to book a newborn session for her baby a.s.a.p.

Tania told me she had taken her 2 week old baby to a portrait studio and had an overall unpleasent experience, "it was cold and the guy wasn't very patient or nice"...

Apparently little Anthony Jr. was letting everyone know he wasn't happy to be there and the session was canceled, which led Tania to start googling for a photographer on Long Island who would come to her home and set up a studio there.... the rest is history.

I had a great time working with Tania and her husband Anthony... we took our time and, as I always do, gave Anthony Jr. a couple of breaks whenever he was starting to get a little cranky.

I don't know if he was just gassy or what, but this baby had so many different expressions and sooo much character... He even did his trademark "Elvis" a couple of times...

and even smiled on a couple of occasions...

On my ride home from the session I already received a call from one of Tania's friends, as well as this super nice email from Tania :

It was so great meeting you Roy! You were AMAZING! I just feel bad that you wouldn't let us buy you lunch. AJ was so good with you. I will definitely recommend you to my friends--I already bragged about you on Facebook...

A studio is set up, complete with backgrounds and lights, we'll do some family portraits, as well as creative portraits of the baby alone... And then move around your home and shoot in whatever is available...
I enjoy being creative and utilizing whatever I can find, The results are nothing short of beautiful and have a very personal feel.
